Kentucky Route Zero is an adventure game that weaves several individual tales into a rich tapestry as beautiful as it is haunting. Originally released in 2013 as a series of episodes and interludes that were sold individually, the Switch version compiles the entire catalog of Kentucky Route Zero stories into a single volume. It's a game Switch owners have been clamoring for, and now that it's finally here it doesn't disappoint. Even though it's a couple of years old, the stories, art, and music feel as fresh and vital as ever. If you're a fan of a slow-burn kind of story, this is one you shouldn't miss.

The island life is idyllic in this latest adventure sim.
On the other hand, playing my other switch(v2) felt much better. It is a switch. Plus, it has a better battery, even though it is not a dedicated handheld. Ridiculous.

Gorogoa is very good, I played on phone but the touchscreen on the switch would be the way forward. Will have to try gone home, I enjoyed firewatch and edith finch.
@Bondi_Surfer There's a few new kingdoms in the postgame too, you just need enough moons to travel to them.
Mundaun’s greatest strength is its source material, Swiss folklore. The format, which relies on exploration and puzzle-solving, isn’t particularly innovative, but the story it facilitates is cryptic and compelling enough to give it momentum. Its pacing is also wonderfully supported by how well the game blends together its exploration and scripted moments, balancing the two so fluidly that its bizarre events come together in a way that feels almost dreamlike. Its darker moments do not feel cinematically imposed on the player, but rather, that they are something that happens to—or with—them. The visuals, for example, often play on light and shadow in a way that relies on the player’s position in the room to progress the scene. Style-wise, its black and white color scheme, often used in similar games to soften rough visual edges (think 2014’s Betrayer), combined with hand-sketched textures (reminiscent of Disturbed from back in 2016), evokes the folksiness of a children’s storybook but channels a grim sparsity that supports its themes well.—Holly Green
Mario Kart 8 was initially released on the Wii U. It was great then. It's even better now with all the additional content.

With such a limited player base on Wii U, Super Mario 3D World was a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch library. The platforming adventure has been refined for today's tech, and even boasts a massive Bowser's Fury expansion with enough content to fill a game by itself. The multi-player focused game is canon in Nintendo's Mario line-up, but until now has received only a fraction of the attention it deserves.

It's overpriced, but if you love Zelda, and you loved Link's Awakening, you have to play this faithful, lovingly adapted remake. It's not perfect, but it gets the job done.
After this new update, some fans are hoping that Nintendo will add other features that they have been wanting for a long time, such as being able to customize the Switch's home screen with different themes, rather than just having a white or black background. As for now, a lot of Switch owners are happy that Nintendo has listened to them and added this feature that makes it easier to select which game they want to play.

As with most puzzle games, Color Zen starts incredibly simple and gets more difficult the longer you play. The free version of the game comes with dozens of such levels, and the developers hope you’ll like them enough to want more. That’s where the surprisingly cheap (we’re talking one dollar) DLC packs come in, which offer themed levels to keep you in that Zen moment.
Answer: Yes it works for switch as well as any device that has the nintendo e shop.
Bomberman's return to console gaming was one of the most surprising moments in the Nintendo's January 2017 Switch game showcase. Considering that the little guy's now the property of Konami, a company that's more known for killing P.T. and warring with Metal Gear maestro Hideo Kojima than making video games, it was shocking to see Super Bomberman R announced as a Nintendo Switch launch title. Thankfully, this newest entry in the beloved, bomb-tossing franchise keeps the series' simple and addicting core gameplay intact, and adds tons of modes, collectible items, and characters to keep things fresh.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the definitive Smash Bros. experience. From tournament-style 1v1 fights on Final Destination to 16 player fights with items turned up on a custom stage, Ultimate makes room for all the fun we’ve had with the series over the years. Every fighter and stage is back, with many notable additions (and still more releasing through DLC).

Years ago, Nintendo had the Brain Age series that was full of math and logic quick-reaction puzzles to "train your brain." Big Brain Academy was another game in that same tradition. This Nintendo Switch version focuses on two- to four-player competitions over a handful of math, logic and analysis minigames, rewarding quick thinking. The game's fun, and there's a daily "test" of your speedy skills as well as chances to try to beat ghosts of others online. Though it feels too short, I'd love to have more games like it on the Switch. Controllers feel like a weird way to interact with some games, but there's a touchscreen option for two-player head-to-head games too. There's a free demo on the Nintendo eShop to play before you buy. See if you like it.
At any rate, thanks for this list! The older I get, the more I appreciate short games with what limited time I have. Some of my favorite games in general have been those like Limbo and Journey.

We still think that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the best game on the Nintendo Switch, and while it's definitely one that's best experienced on a big screen, it's one that still works really well on the more constrained Nintendo Switch Lite.

It's fine, I know that no one is gonna agree with me when I say that Smash is over-rated. It's a great game, but it's just a fighting game. And fighting games, by definition, don't impress me that much. Even in the case of the very best of the genre, which Smash is.

First up, we've got Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. It's no secret that I've been hugely impressed with this game from my recent hands-on, and I think it's got everything it needs to be one of those under-the-radar hits that just gathers more and more momentum as time goes on. As I said in my preview, it’s a dream come true for Star Wars fans and kids (of all ages).

Nice to see short games getting some love. It's always annoyed me how a game being "too short" is often something that gets criticized (though rarely the same if a game is "too long", which I would say is more annoying). You wouldn't get it in any other form of media/entertainment, where it's usually the opposite.
Luigi's Mansion began its life as a launch game for the GameCube 20 years ago, but everyone's favorite less-famous plumber has to rescue Mario and the gang from ghosts yet again using a tricked-out vacuum. This version has the same basic walk-and-suck gameplay, though you can now slam ghosts around and create a Goo-based duplicate of yourself (controllable by another player!).
