The next bottle release at the brewery is our Strawberry Rhubarb Sour, available for online reservation on Monday, July 24th at noon! This bottle-conditioned sour beer was brewed over a direct fire in our copper kettle with Vienna and Munich malt from our friends at Sugar Creek in Indiana. The beer was made without hops, fermented with our wild house mixed culture and re-fermented on strawberries from McLaughlin Farm in Murphysboro as well as rhubarb from Henry's Farm in Congerville. This beer shines a bright red, tastes like your favorite strawberry-rhubarb pie and has a pronounced tartness. It's packaged in 500 ml bottles at 5.5% alcohol by volume and is ready for your enjoyment now or can be kept in your home cellar for several years.
Tickets to reserve the beer are $1 per bottle and you may reserve up to 12 bottles (or a case) for $12. The bottles themselves will be $15 each when you come to pick them up at the brewery with a reservation, or $17 without. Tickets go on sale Monday, July 24th at noon and will be available for reservation online until Wednesday, July 26th at midnight, or until the reservations are filled. After that, bottles will be available on a first-come first-served basis at the brewery. To secure a bottle (or a case!) make sure you reserve ahead of time. Our reservation fees are donated to a great cause. This time we'll be sending money to the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, an organization that helps support economically viable, socially just and environmentally sustainable food systems in Illinois through legislative work and other conservation efforts.
You may pick up your bottle during our normal business hours starting Thursday, July 27th through August 27th. We have very limited space so any bottles not claimed by August 27th must be forfeited. As always, you will be asked to show ID and your ticket when you come to purchase your bottle. THANK YOU!
