Mark Your Calendar for Our Book Release Party & Oktoberfest, September 10th & 25th
We have two great events just around the corner in September!
The Homebrewer's Almanac Book Release Party
Saturday, September 10th (Noon to 10 PM)
Discover how to brew with local plants and ingredients you can grow in your backyard! On Saturday, September 10th we'll be pre-releasing our book, The Homebrewer's Almanac, at a party at the brewery before it goes on sale officially on September 13th.
The day will be filled with free events, including book signings, garden and foraging tours, home brew demos. We'll also have a raffle with tons of great prizes, including tickets to our Oktoberfest (and two handmade Scratch steins); a crate of four of our bottled beers (one which is yet to be released); a beer book pack; a special Chanterelle Biere de Garde home brew kit (with chanterelles!) put together by Windy Hill Hops; and a grand prize SS Brewtech 7 gal Brew Bucket conical stainless fermenter. This is a fantastic opportunity to pick the minds of owner-brewers Marika and Aaron, grab a signed book for yourself or the brewer in your life, and walk away with some great beer prizes. The event is free and will run all day from noon to 10 PM.
Oktoberfest 2016
Sunday, September 25th (Noon to 8 PM)
Later in the month, join us at Scratch for our second annual Oktoberfest! This is one of our favorite events of the year. We'll have hand-made ceramic steins by four local artists available in half and full liter sizes. Purchase either stein ($40 or $50) or a 16-oz Mason Jar ($5) and enjoy beers in 16 oz or 32 oz pours (for $5 or $10, respectively) and unlimited sodas all day. (The price of the stein includes the first fill.) We'll have a variety of German style beers including:
Scratch Oktoberfest
Ava Weiss (with special house made syrups)
Maple-Smoked Chicory Rauchbier
Hefeweizen
Midnight Schwarzbier
Celebrating the incredible artists in our area is part of the goal of our Oktoberfest this year and last, which is why we have handmade steins for sale by local artists; this year we'll also have other artists showing and selling their metal, glass, and ceramic art. This is all topped with fantastic German food from our friends at Kitchen Kulture available for purchase separately. See their full menu below.
Come out and enjoy great beer, great food, and great art!
