Oktoberfest is just a couple weekends away at Scratch! In addition to our yearly handmade steins and casks on the patio, we have some special events lined up on Saturdays.
The first two weeks of October usually have the best weather so we've planned two forage walks on consecutive weekends. On these walks we identify native plants we use in our beer, gather them together, then set up at a picnic table in the woods, make teas, sample a couple small food items made with those ingredients, and of course try beers so you can get a whole overview of how a plant makes its way into our beer and food.
The third Saturday in October we will be tasting through the last of our cellared vintage bottles. These bottles run the gamut from mushroom beers to collaborations with brewers far and wide (Jester King, Plan Bee, and Blackberry Farm to name a few). We saved our favorite vintages that aged especially well for this tasting and when they're gone they're gone!
Finally, on October 25th we'll be holding another one of our popular wild food tasting/workshops. This is a four-course small tasting meal featuring food made with ingredients we foraged in the woods. Each dish is paired with one of our beers. Come learn how to use wild plants in culinary applications and enjoy a special meal with us as we walk through some of the recipes.
All side events will be from 1:30 to 3:30 and are limited to 15 people. Tickets are available on our website.
October 4: Forage Walk
October 11: Forage Walk
October 18: Vintage Bottle Tasting
October 25: Wild Food Tasting
As always, entry to our Oktoberfest is otherwise free. TIckets are only needed for side events. If you purchase a stein to drink out of, you can fill it all day for $5 a pour. Bring back previous years' steins and fill them for the same price. We can't wait to share pictures of this year's steins and see you out in our gorgeous beer garden (which Outside Magazine this year called one of the most beautiful breweries in the country) during our favorite time of the year!

The lineup of events at Scratch for Oktoberfest 2025 sounds fantastic! I love the idea of forage walks to discover native plants used in Escape Road.

That sounds like an incredible event! Vintage tastings are always special, especially when you’re opening bottles that have been aging beautifully over the years. I love that you’re including unique brews and collaborations — those are always the most memorable. Definitely not one to miss before those bottles are gone for good! ragdoll hit
